Last October, the first-ever Rocktoberfest took over Dr. A.J. Chandler Park in the heart of Downtown Chandler. SanTan Brewing Company and Huss Brewing Co. filled two days with tribute bands like Chadwicks and The Dirt, a brat-eating contest, wiener dog races, and enough craft beer to make the stein-holding competition a genuine test of endurance. It ran Friday afternoon into Saturday night, right in the historic core where Chandler puts most of its big public gatherings.
This October, the address is different. Rocktoberfest returns October 2 through 4, 2026, but not to that park. It's now at SanTan Gardens, 495 E Warner Road, in Uptown Chandler, about ten minutes from the original downtown pub where SanTan started brewing back in 2007. And it's no longer a two-day event. It's three.
If you've lived in Chandler long enough to remember when this festival didn't exist, the move is worth understanding for more than logistics. It tells you something about how the city's two commercial districts are starting to pull apart, and which one is picking up the momentum.
The Address Isn't the Only Thing That Changed
Set the two years side by side and the differences go beyond geography:

- 2026: Three days, Friday 4:30 to 10 p.m., Saturday 2 to 10 p.m., and Sunday 2 to 8 p.m., at SanTan Gardens in Uptown Chandler. This year's official description credits SanTan Brewing Company and SanTan Distilling as the pours. Huss Brewing, last year's co-producer, isn't named in the current listing.
- Tickets: Advance pricing starts at $15 plus fees, climbing to $20 and up on the day of the event, according to the current event listing.
- The games stay the same: stein-holding, wiener toss, brat-eating, cornhole, beer pong, and wiener dog races are all back for 2026.
A downtown park and a working brewery campus are not the same kind of space, and that difference matters more than the extra day added to the calendar.
Why a Brewery Would Trade a Public Park for Its Own Backyard
SanTan Gardens isn't new. It opened in late 2022 as SanTan's public-facing expansion of its 35,000-square-foot production facility, built around an al fresco patio and a larger tasting room. The idea, according to the brewery, was to give the company a second public gathering spot beyond its original downtown pub, one built specifically for private events, brewery tours, and live music.
That last part matters. SanTan Gardens already runs its own rotating lineup of ticketed tribute nights on that same stage, including a Doors tribute called Peace Frog, a Pink Floyd tribute called Shine on Floyd, an AC/DC tribute called The Jack, and a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute called Mr Skynyrd. Red Hot Cholo Peppers, part of last year's Rocktoberfest bill, has also played there as a standalone headliner. This isn't a park being borrowed once a year. It's a venue that already runs its own music calendar, and Rocktoberfest now folds into that instead of sitting apart from it.
That's the more useful way to read this move. SanTan didn't relocate its biggest annual festival to a random address. It moved the festival onto ground it already owns and already programs, at a facility built to host groups and stage acts on its own patio. Downtown Chandler gave the debut year its setting. Uptown Chandler gives the second year a home base the brewery controls outright.
What Uptown Chandler Actually Is
If your mental map of Chandler treats Uptown as an afterthought, you're not alone. It's not a neighborhood with front yards and cul-de-sacs. It's the city's employment corridor, home to roughly 550 businesses and about 12,000 workers, according to a city report on a 2026 signage project meant to give the district a clearer identity. The plan calls for eight new monument signs at the corridor's entry and exit points, the latest step in a branding push the city started back in 2017 to cut vacancy rates and pull in more employers.
This is the stretch of Chandler where NXP Semiconductors runs a manufacturing and R&D campus with roughly 1,700 employees, where beverage distributor Hensley employs around 200 people, and where Dixon Golf recently opened a new headquarters. It's built for weekday traffic, badge-swipe parking lots, and lunch breaks, not Friday night crowds looking for a stein of lager and a Bon Jovi tribute act.
Putting a public festival here is a small experiment in whether an office corridor can draw the same weekend foot traffic a downtown block generates for free. SanTan Gardens has spent three years building a local following through its regular concert bookings. Rocktoberfest is the test of whether that following, plus a three-day run instead of two, is enough to make Uptown feel like a destination rather than a place people just drive through on their way to work.
Downtown Keeps Its Own Calendar
Rocktoberfest packing up for Uptown doesn't mean Downtown Chandler goes quiet this fall. Most of the city's other marquee events are staying exactly where they've always been. Woofstock returns to Tumbleweed Park with pet adoptions, vendors, and a photo contest for dogs. The AZ48 Chandler Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K still loop through Downtown Chandler's streets. The Diwali Festival of Lights comes back to Downtown for another year of music, dance, and food. And the Chandler Center for the Arts is staging its 27th Annual Mariachi & Folklórico Festival, tied to Día de los Muertos.
Rocktoberfest is the outlier this year, the one big fall name trading a public park for a private brewery campus. Everything else on Chandler's fall calendar is staying put in the historic core.
What To Actually Expect If You Go
A few practical notes if you're planning your weekend around this. The festival now runs three days instead of two, so you have more flexibility than last year if Friday night doesn't work. Tickets start at $15 in advance and climb past $20 if you wait until the day of the event, so buying ahead saves money either way.
Expect the physical footprint to feel different from the open lawn of Dr. A.J. Chandler Park. SanTan Gardens is a working production facility built around a patio, not a sprawling public green space, and it's described by the venue itself as pet-friendly, which tracks with the more intimate, backyard-brewery feel it's built its reputation on. Parking will follow an industrial corridor's layout rather than a downtown grid, so give yourself a few extra minutes if you haven't been to that stretch of Warner Road before.
No specific 2026 band lineup had been announced as of this writing. Given the venue's recent run of tribute acts, a rock-heavy bill wouldn't be a surprise, but that's a reasonable guess based on pattern, not a confirmed list.
Chandler's fall festival scene is starting to look less like one calendar and more like two, one anchored to the historic downtown blocks residents already know, and one testing whether an employment corridor built for 12,000 daytime workers can hold its own on a Friday night. Rocktoberfest is the first big swing at the second version. Whether it sticks in Uptown next year or drifts back downtown is the kind of detail worth watching if you like knowing where this city is actually headed, not just where it's already been.
